FITNESS AFTER SURGERY
Welcome to my life and my struggle. Your health is the most important factor in life. I’m one to tell you that it is paramount to take care of your body and your mind. Otherwise, you can’t focus on the other important things in life.
Your mind is the first thing that falls short after an injury or a surgery. DON'T LET IT. The mind is stronger than the body. I went through cervical spine surgery after discovering I have four discs that are herniated. My mindset, in regards to the activities that I enjoy doing, fell apart.
Fitness, boxing, and the martial arts are just a few things that I enjoy. I wasn’t about to let an injury hold me back from returning to that life. I’ve heard plenty of stories while attending therapy. And most if not all complain and say they are never returning to their craft or skill set. TRUST THE PROCESS.
After cervical spine surgery, I made an effort to fix other parts of my body so that I would be able perform up to par. I had another surgery performed on my left foot. It involved re-breaking a toe that never healed properly and a bunionectomy procedure. The foot surgery helped my overall running improve and my tendinitis vanish.
All in all. I can’t complain. Recovery taught me to be stronger than I have already known myself to be. Now, the goal is to focus on my body since my mind is right. Once the mind is right then the body will follow. No matter how big or small, heal and move forward. Lets encourage each other. Follow me in my journey.
